In the early hours of yesterday’s morning I was able to snap this picture.

One moment in the lives of three beings on Planet Earth,

in a Solar System, in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy,

in the Local Galaxy Group (Milky Way, Andromeda, Triangulum)

located in the Virgo Supercluster.

So much to think about, so much to understand, from; raising chickens, to feeding ourselves, relationship to other, our species, countless other species, and how Nature’s systems work on Earth.

One moment in time for a species that has arrived (in its present modern physical form) in the last 8 minutes of the last hour of the last day in the condensed Calendar Year comprising 13.8 Billion Years.

Agriculture was ‘figured out’ in the last 28 seconds, Coinage (money) and all major world religions; 5 seconds, Science 1 second (which is how we know the earth is not flat and where we are in the Universe).

Perspective is everything.

The fence is up

The door looks beautiful, a mix of new and old lumber

We salvaged an old window and screen that fits exactly

Screen on the door and upper spaces of the new roost

…And it only took us a little over ½ hour to gently coax the hens into their new home just before the sun set.

I’d like to thank Dawn, Will’s Daughter, who took the time to travel and be with us on Father’s day weekend and work to help us move this project forward. Thank you Dawn, we couldn’t have finished this in time without your help.
